10: MY BLOGGING EXPERIENCE

I consider that these activities were entertaining for me, they helped me to be able to express ideas and to improve my English (a bit, because it still costs me). Personally, I need a lot of time because first I write in Spanish and then in English (the teacher always told me not to do it that way), it is something that I must improve to be more fluid. But this activity allowed me to write a lot in English and about things that I liked, so I feel I really learned a little more, and it is very useful because speaking in English makes me feel embarrassed, and that I was given the opportunity to write for I could express myself very much.

On the other hand, I liked being able to read my colleagues, maybe knowing them in another way, since not everyone could talk. I would have liked that a blog had been destined to write what one wanted, in a free way, it would be interesting to be able to see the personalities, tastes and interests in that blog. But something that I would have liked to include in a group for the whole course is about feminism, I feel that it is something that involves us all as a society and I would like to know what my colleagues think, perhaps from the personal or professional side.

Thanks for reading at this time, see you next English 4

9: PARANORMAL PHENOMENA

To be very honest, I did not vote on this issue because I never liked to speak it. I consider
myself a person who does not believe in anything that can not be certified by science
(like religion), but on the other hand, if I believe in the bad and good energies of people.

Whenever things have happened to me "paranormal" I attribute to them one more cause of
nature. Very recently I was in my room with my dog lying down, and some things fell, I went
to see and the windows were closed so there was no wind, I did not pay attention, but from that moment and until now my dog behaves strange when we are alone and leave the open door of
the room (and you see the living), starts barking and becomes uncomfortable. I find this situation
a little scary, so I just close the door and avoid going through that. But it is something very
strange.

Although I do not believe in these issues, I am very scared, the darkness scares me, horror
movies, even when people tell paranormal stories, I am very afraid. But I really enjoy
"paranormal art" like books.

Regarding this, I recommend a very good book by Dan Brown called inferno (actually
I recommend all his books)

8: A SUBJECT I ENJOY STUDYING THIS SEMESTER

I want to be honest, even though I love my career, I don’t always like subjects. Moreover,
this semester I did not like any so it was a very boring semester (except for a CFG, but it is
not related at all with my career and is called “Feminismos y Masculinidades, un encuentro
posible”, if they have the possibility to do it, do it, they do it in the faculty of odontology).

For this I chose the practice. During our training we have practice every semester, there are
8 in the bachelor's degree, and I am currently in practice 7 (how scary!). I always like this
subject, because that is where I can develop and check theory with practice. This semester
the contents that we have seen most are related to the pedagogical reflection, different ways of
doing it, authors that talk about this as Donald Schön. The subject is based on two intensive
weeks of practice (I played in the Santiago Library) and classes. In the class the previous topics
are touched and also the experiences in the educative centers are counted.

He is Donald Schön. It is difficult to reflect and systematize pedagogical reflection for the short time that teachers have, but the delivery of tools to do so.

I feel that it is one of the few subjects where we can reflect critically on our actions and on the
theory, that is why I like it, and we can also talk collectively with our colleagues.

I would like that many more careers could have the opportunity to have practices during their
training and not only at the end, in this way, the arrival in the workplace would not be so radical.

7: AN EXPERT OF MY CAREER

Paulo Freire was a Brazilian educator, supporter of liberating pedagogy and putting into
practice an education that transforms the structure of society. He was linked to
politics in various countries such as: Brazil, Africa, Bolivia, Chile.
In 1997 he died, days before his death he himself still debated about the new
perspectives of education in the world. His pedagogical thinking continues today.
It is considered that his contributions on emancipatory critical literacy.

Critical pedagogy is a field of teaching and research that has had Freire as its main driver.
According to him education is a vital weapon for the liberation of the people and the
transformation of society and therefore acquires a clearly defined ideological and political connotation. The main thing to be an educator is to recognize that knowledge is not transmitted,
it is being built, the educational act does not consist of a transmission of knowledge, it is the enjoyment of the construction of a common world.

He has written many books as I believe that all people who are related to education and
pedagogy should read them:
- Pedagogy of the oppressed.
- Pedagogy of autonomy (my favorite)
- Pedagogy of hope
- Letters to those who intend to teach
- Pedagogy of outrage

I would also like to mention Gabriela Mistral, who had a contribution to the Latin
American pedagogy, public and democratic, who mentioned that teaching should always
be done: in the playground and on the street as in the classroom. Teach with the attitude, the
gesture and the word.

6: FAVOURITE MUSICIAN

Hello everyone, it took me a lot to choose a specific musician. First I would like to tell you
that I have very different tastes, I can pass from Chilean music, to gringa, European, tropical
music, Brazilian music, romantic music. The truth is that I enjoy music a lot, listen to it, dance
it, enjoy it in solitude, with friends, my family, etc.

Since I was little my parents instilled in me the love for Latin American folklore, but my taste
for Chilean music and folklore is wonderful.
I chose Violeta Parra, who is a singer-songwriter and one of the leading folklorists in South America and a promoter of popular music in Chile. I like it because I feel that its music is poetry, it delivers reality with only a guitar accompanied, it can go from songs to love or heartbreak, to the injustices of the people. I've known her since I was little, we spent hours with my family listening to her (along with other Chilean singers). Today, her songs transmit me a lot of peace, I consider her a national reference with respect to music and I think it is the duty of all of us to continue reproducing her music so that it is never forgotten.

It is difficult to find videos of her since she died in 1967, time when so many video clips were not generated and because of her simplicity in the musical art, she did not either. In Youtube you usually find her songs sung by her, but she does not appear. I have two favorite songs of Violeta, first "La Jardinera" and "La Petaquita", both remind me when I was a child, and I sang and danced with my parents. I leave a video where she does not appear, but if her voice, with one of my favorite songs:

5: A PHOTOGRAPH

I consider myself a fanatic of photos, people who know me, know how I like to take
photographs, in general, I do not have a preference, but I like photos: landscapes, unknown
people, animals, street dogs, my family and Friends (including myself), selfies, etc. I think it's
something I inherited, because before my parents were born they had a baby album (until then
with the pregnancy test) and until now, they have about 4 albums that portray our family life.
This in particular makes me remember beautiful moments that we have lived in a graphic way.

I took this picture in one of the many times I have returned to my city, Antofagasta. It is a
photograph of "La Portada" which is a natural monument of the second region of Chile.
This photograph was taken in January 2019

Since I came to study in Santiago, every time I return to Antofagasta I like to go at least
once to "La Portada", I like to go to the sunsets, and that in my city I often see wonderful (I
will leave a picture of how do they look).

I love taking pictures because the sea never looks the same, the sky either, and the
colors either. Also because seeing them later in Santiago, I feel that I can feel the sound and
the smell of the sea, I can remember those sensations, and for that reason I like many
photographs in general, which portray an exact moment, but many stories can be wrapped
before and after the photo, which one can count or simply remember.

If you ever go to Antofagasta, I recommend you to meet "La Portada" at dusk, in summer at
8 pm and in winter type 7 in the afternoon.

4: I love the series!

In this post I’ll write about a series I watched that its name isMerli. Merli is a
Spanish-Catalonian series that is about a professor of Philosophy, who encourageshis
students to be reflective and critical of their actions, thoughts, reality, and
society with the philosophy.

The series has a total of 40 episodes divided into 3 seasons, baptized with the
name of different philosophers. Created and written by Héctor Lozano and directed
by Eduard Cortés. Merlí was premiered on 2015. Personally I saw her in a week,
because I hooked very fast. The reason I think it was because since I was in school
I like philosophy, it reminded me a bit of the book The World of Sofia, where
philosophy is narrated in a more entertaining and linked to reality.

I think I like the series so much because it shows a form of alternative pedagogy,
where students are protagonists of their learning, guided by a teacher who motivates
them to always relate content with reality. This is a way for learning to be meaningful.
I also like the relationship that is generated between teacher and students, which
moves away exclusively from the role of teacher, and manages to establish
relationships of trust, personal, and even friendships. I like this because
I think that pedagogy sometimes forgets that we are integral people and away from
that, is not living it.

My favorite character is Pol Rubio and I was very happy to know that they will do a
Spin off focused on their life; I am very excited to see it.

I recommend all those who like philosophy, but also those who are passionate about pedagogy.

3: MY FAVORITE TECHNOLOGY PIECE

Since I was about 8 years old I am inserted in a technological world, first with
television, then with my dad's first cell phone that was given to him at work (it was
giant and with antenna) and with the computer. For an unknown reason my
parents always kept me away from technology, television and the
computer, I could use them with specific hours.

When I was 17, when I entered university, they gave me my first cell phone, which
had an internet connection. I discovered an endless number of functions: listening to
music, talking with people quickly through flames or messages via WhatsApp, taking
pictures, searching for information on google, etc.

Since then I think that it is my technological object that I use the most and that I like
the most. At that time my sister had moved to Santiago (I living in Antofagasta), and
allowed us to have constant contact cell phone and also make video calls. I feel it was
a very useful tool to keep in touch.

Apart from that, with the cell phone I listen to music on Spotify, also when I travel
I watch series or movies with the Netflix application, it also allows me to leave the
internet with instant doubts through google, and something I also appreciate is having a
calculator (I am bad for math) and have an alarm, because I do not like many digital ones.

Today I feel dependent on the cell phone, because it keeps me in touch with my parents
who are in Antofagasta. If I had to mention life without him, it would be very sad, for
example I should communicate with them only by phone (and without being able to see
them, as in the videos) or send them letters that would take a long time.

Strange fact: since I arrived in Santiago, they have assaulted me 3 times and they
have stolen my cell phone. So sad jajaja.

2: "My future, my decision"

Since I remember I liked animals, I wanted to be a Veterinarian until a friend told me that she had to sleep her dog and that she had taken her to the vet for that. At that moment I  realized that I would not be able to do it.

During my adolescence I always wanted to study something related to people and social  duty, and later that desire was increased by a career that paid off economically  (I think it is something that my father indirectly instilled in me, since he always told me  that he did not want to it will happen the same as he had to live with the debts). For that reason, I put aside my most intimate tastes like being a teacher, and decided that  being a lawyer was a good decision, because in a certain way I could contribute to the social field to people who did not have economic resources, and on the other hand I could also earn money.

The first year I did very well in university, but it was a very dark and sad process, I did not feel like going to class or studying, and I felt it was not a career for me. The second year I had a crisis for the same reason but with more decision than to do. That was how at the end of the year I decided to leave the race and tell my family. They got angry, they did not talk to me for a month, but then everything calmed down.

I had to give the PSU again, and with the support of my parents, this process was nice, because I was going with the clear goal, I wanted to study childhood pedagogy. So far my experience in this University has been good; it has opened many possibilities for how I can develop in the future and many tools to be an agent of social change.

I must admit that I have liked non-formal educational spaces such as the museum, and I am currently doing my practice in the Santiago Library. I think and I would like to develop in
patrimonial and cultural spaces, outside the classroom, specifically because they are spaces that are often not worked for children, and there is a lot of potential to do so, I feel it is a challenge.

1: MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Hello everyone, my name is Macarena Vargas, I am twentythree years old. I was born in
Antofagasta on the twentyfourth of June 1995.
Currently I live in Santiago with my boyfriend and my dog in the commune of Santiago Centro. I
study children's pedagogy at the University of Chile since 2016, however I studied two years law.
I did not like this last career and decided to change to one that I had always wanted to study.
I studied elementary and high school in a Catholic school, which I blame my parents for having
made me go through that torture (joke).
I am currently very happy to study this career, and very content to be in Santiago despite not
seeing my parents. It is a very big city and with many entertaining activities to do. What most
strikes me is the amount of museums, libraries and heritage sites. I am seriously thinking about
dedicating myself toheritage education in early childhood.
In the summer I return to Antofagasta to visit my parents and every day I go to the beach, it is an
instance that I adore, because it calms me the smell and the sound of the sea.
I have a sister, whom I always see, we like to share a beer and talk about life. We are very close
despite being ten years apart.
In my spare time I like watching movies on Netflix, eating cookies and ice cream. I love spending
time with my dog going for a walk to the hill of Santa Lucia, as I live nearby. I also, like to share
with my boyfriend, with whom we spend hours talking about everything (and also drinking wine).
Things that I love: eating chocolate, sleeping with my dog, reading books, listening to
music and cooking.

This is my dog, his name is Thor and he is four years old, when he was 5 months old I
rescued him from the street and from that moment he changed my life.

Goodbye, I hope you know me better

Feminism
"Feminism is the same male-chovinism, but the other way"
In my opinion, these concepts do not represent the same way. Feminism is a movement and social positions that seek gender equality for women on the rights have been denied in political, cultural, sexual and economic areas.
The male-chovinism is a set of socially constructed attitude for people and is associated with the masculine. These attitudes consider women inferior and submissive to men.
The feminism seeks gender equality between woman and men. On the other hand, male-chovinism considers men superior to woman. Therefore, they are not inverse concepts. The male-chovinism promotes gender violence; its end is not the same way.
Putting the concepts in parallel is contradicting a way of thinking and a struggle that wants to claim that all people have the same rights and that fights against all forms of oppression and discrimination, with an ideology that considers men superior and have privileges because of the fact that they are.
