Feminism
"Feminism is
the same male-chovinism, but the other way"
In my
opinion, these concepts do not represent the same way. Feminism is a movement
and social positions that seek gender equality for women on the rights have
been denied in political, cultural, sexual and economic areas.
The
male-chovinism is a set of socially constructed attitude for people and is
associated with the masculine. These attitudes consider women inferior and
submissive to men.
The feminism
seeks gender equality between woman and men. On the other hand, male-chovinism
considers men superior to woman. Therefore, they are not inverse concepts. The
male-chovinism promotes gender violence; its end is not the same way.
Putting the
concepts in parallel is contradicting a way of thinking and a struggle that
wants to claim that all people have the same rights and that fights against all
forms of oppression and discrimination, with an ideology that considers men
superior and have privileges because of the fact that they are.
